BMA Vision Plan Open Enrollment

Hello all BMA members and represented City employees!

Just a friendly reminder here, open enrollment ends this Friday! Please be sure to submit all changes by October 14, 2022, the open enrollment deadline.

One of the important benefit options for BMA members is the vision plans. BMA members have an exclusive option to choose between the City’s VSP vision plan (covers the employee only) and the BMA’s United Healthcare vision plan (covers the member and qualified dependents, at no extra cost). You must be a BMA member to take advantage of this second option and you may only maintain coverage on one of the plans. Duel enrollment is strictly prohibited.

Now, during open enrollment, is the time to consider between the two vision plans to determine which plan best fits your needs. If you are already on one of the plans and do not wish to make any changes, you do not need to do anything. Your benefits will continue as they are through 2023. If you wish to change plans, or add/delete dependents, you must do so by the October 14, 2022 deadline.

If you would like to obtain information on the City’s VSP vision plan, please contact the Benefits Office at extension 5003 or by email at BenefitsOffice@burbankca.gov.

Again, this UHC vision insurance option is only available to BMA members. If you are not a BMA member you may enroll during this open enrollment period or you may enroll anytime though the year. You may also make changes to your BMA membership status only during open enrollment for the following year.
